![]() The Norton and LifeLock Brands are part of NortonLifeLock Inc. Still not really solved since I'll be back to getting task notifications during full screen (the few rare times I use full screen). So if I remove firefox.exe from the program exclusions it'd probably go away. It was suggested in another thread because Norton task notifications kept appearing during full screen mode when watching movies (I guess I do use full screen once in awhile, oops just remembered) Previous thread mentioned. I did add firefox.exe to program exclusions awhile ago. I looked at the same history you posted but mine says "c:\program files\mozilla firefox\firefox.exe started Quiet Mode is on." So I guess if that has something to do with Full Screen then. ![]() I even tried using the default theme for Firefox and like I said above had disabled safe web to see if that'd change anything. So either Firefox is somehow affecting Norton OR Norton's latest product update isn't playing nice. Before that the system tray icon never changed color except that orange exclamation mark once in awhile because it wanted to run performance tasks or cleanup. This only started happening to me after the latest product update from Norton. I disabled Norton Safe Web extension too in Firefox and that didn't help. Also I've used Norton's VPN maybe three times since it's availability. It doesn't happen with Google Chrome or Micrsoft Edge that I'm aware of. So it is something between N360 Standard (probably all editions) and Firefox 103.0.2 I just noticed there's an update to 104.x so I will try installing it and report back here.Įdit - Just installed Firefox 104.x and the same issue still occurs. Open Firefox (latest build) and it changes to greyed out. Open Firefox (latest build) (changes to greyed out sys tray icon for N360)Ĭlose Firefox (latest build) (changes to full color yellow) It is set to aggressive boot up protection since it can't handle anything else. Fast start has been disabled for years because of another forum member always suggesting that. I very rarely have to disable Norton services for anything. I hate full screen even when playing a game. My system info is in my signature and SoulAsylum Assuming that the current system tray icon is still designed to change colour when a Norton protection feature is temporarily disabled, is it possible that Norton Secure VPN or some other component is disconnecting or briefly turning off? For example, see danpbphoto's 0 Why My Norton Secure VPN Will Not Stay Connected? about problems with the stability of their VPN. You said your icon colour can change throughout the day. See sparks118's 2 Tick Icon Changed Colour and Encryption's 1 Norton Security Notification Area Icon for a few discussions about this old bug. A few affected users were able to fix the problem by disabling Fast Startup and/or changing their Boot Time Protection from OFF to Normal or Aggressive, but that didn't solve the problem for all affected users and Norton eventually included a bug fix when Norton v22.19.9.63 was released in Nov 2019. However, this only happened after a system restart. I don't use Norton on my Win 10 machine, but I recall there was a bug that appeared in Norton v22.17.2.46 back in 2019 where the system tray icon could sometimes remain grey for a few minutes minutes after boot-up on some systems because Norton was slow to load all its components into memory. What is your computer model, Windows OS and current Norton 360 version number?
